Powering the golden west of the United States

Jordan Kraiten - Head of Infrastructure Investments

Through our investments in renewable energy companies, your super is also helping to tackle climate change. One of these companies is Terra-Gen, an owner, operator and developer of renewable and clean energy production storage facilities. Their 26 installations include wind and solar farms, geothermal power plants and battery storage facilities, which deliver clean energy to the most populous state in the United States, California, and across the broader western US.

California is also leading the US towards a 100% clean energy future, so Terra-Gen’s facilities are at the heart of the growing renewable energy industry.

Terra-Gen’s facilities currently generate over 1.5 gigawatts (GW) of power per year and the company continues to expand its renewable energy operations. It has more than 3 GW of projects in development. One of these development projects is the Edwards Sanborn energy project, which when complete is expected to be the world’s largest standalone solar and energy storage project to date.

Hostplus has invested over $3 billion in projects that aim to improve our planet and help you save more for your retirement.

If your super is invested in any of our pre-mixed options (except Indexed Balanced), your money is invested in transformative companies like Terra-Gen.
